Future needs a past

We will not bother you with the complete history of more than 100 years at this point. With its ups and downs it is quite exciting though. In the editions of our Kuris-news in 2012 we presented the highlights. And you can find those as PDF on our homepage.

January 2nd 1912: Carl Kraus and Carl Reichert founded the “Krauss & Reichert Spezialmaschinenfabrik and Apparatebau G.m.b.H” in Bad Cannstatt and begin producing cutting devices with a staff of ten.

1915: Carl Krauss leaves the company after he got wounded during World War One. His Partner keeps the name of the company unchanged.

1922: Occupation of the first own factory building in Bad Cannstatt.

About 1928: The name KURIS appears for the first time as an abbreviation on the machines and stands for Krauss Und Reichert In Stuttgart.

1937: The 26,000th electrical scissor is delivered.

1957: After makeshift fabrication at different locations during and after the war in 1957 the new and own fabrication site in Fellbach was occupied and all departments were again under one roof.

1976: With a company area of 21.500 square yards and more than 350 employees Kuris reaches its absolute high. The servo-cutter is presented and gets sold 25,000 times until 1999. Gerd Wiedmann first appears as a supplier.

August 1st 2005: Sabine Gassenmayer and Gerd Wiedmann take over Kuris with its staff of 30 from its second insolvency and name it “Kuris Spezialmaschinen GmbH”.

Summer 2009: Move to the new premises in Deggingen- Reichenbach that offer room for the aspired growth.

2012: Kuris celebrates its 100th year of existence – now with 45 employees as well as five apprentices and three student employees.

2016: Move-in in the new assembly hall. The mounting surface is extended of 1.600m².
